Climate change is one of the biggest health threats facing humanity - it is already affecting human health around the world. Impacts of climate change on health are not evenly distributed, but they are likely to increase. The Climate Change and Health research programme, a joint research initiative between Elizabeth Blackwell Institute for Health Research and Cabot Institute for the Environment, is looking into the intersection between climate change and health to help us find solutions for a healthier future.
The 2023 Climate Change and Health research fund was supported by the generous donations of alumni through the University of Bristol US Foundation. The fund has two main aims: to pump-prime genuinely new and exciting interdisciplinary research ideas concerned with climate changes and health, and to support impact-focussed partnerships (national and global) and activities. We are looking to support bold, ambitious and impactful projects.

What can you do?
Climate change and health research needs experts from diverse backgrounds, fields and disciplines to contribute a broad range of knowledge and skills. It also needs advocacy, support and partnerships to extend its capacity, network and impact.
