Bristol New Music: The Middle Aisle Ensemble/Bristol University Fringe Austerity Music

27 April 2024, 11.45 AM - 27 April 2024, 1.15 PM

The Cube, Dove Street South, Kingsdown, Bristol, BS2 8JD

A grass-roots inspired concert with music written in response to the defunding of arts in the UK.  Be it recycled instruments such as stylophone and 90s keyboard, a solo piece for viola in which the use of the bow is forbidden, recycling pre-existing music and other forms of stripped back aesthetics, the Middle Aisle Ensemble presents various takes on how to write music when the resources aren’t available.

Taking place from Thursday 25th April - Sunday 28th April 2024, Bristol New Music is a city-wide festival of contemporary music and sound.

Admission £5.
