ART-CC analyses used to increase access to insurance for PLHIV in France

Press release issued: 18 March 2021

ART-CC analyses on life expectancy have formed part of the evidence base for increasing access to insurance for people living with HIV (PLHIV) in France.

The AERAS Monitoring and Proposals committee has announced that some restrictions to life insurance for PLHIV in France would be removed and the length of insurance available would be increased. This is following evidence presented by Professor Dominique Costagliola of the FHDH cohort using data from analyses by the ART-CC on life expectancy, as well as analyses by researchers from FHDH looking at the association between comorbidities and achieving a CD4 count of 500 cells/mm3.

The announcement can be found here.
