LEAGUE & CUP MATCHES LEAGUE TABLES TIMES & PLACES SLAUNCHER MATE !!! ABOUT OUR AMAZING VICTORIES / DRUNKEN ANTICS NAMES & NUMBERS STUDENT RUGBY LEAGUERUGBY LEAGUE WEBSITES

The squad trains every Sunday on the downs (opposite the water tower) at 2.30pm so you can get over your hangover. There will also be training on Wednesdays if matches are not being played. Rugby league coaches are rare in the south of England, sometimes we get a coach although usually we rely on the more experienced league players to pass on their knowledge.

It is important to come to the training sessions because virtually all of our players are ex-union and you can't adapt to league just like that! League is a totally different game to union, both offensively and defensively. It takes time to adjust to the style of running and tackling used in league. There are also the more obvious differences, such as the rules. Our training sessions are therefore focused around skills and set plays rather than fitness. Due to the faster pace of league you will find fitness improves rapidly, we advise going on a few runs, but any other aerobic work will help (I found swimming and windsurfing helpful). If you are really keen you can do circuits at Woodland house.
