Summary

To summarise this section we can see that deaf people are lacking in access to employment and have little recourse to services which would broaden their choice.  The problems are not to do with outright discrimination or unemployment but more to do with under-use of their skills.  The fact that deaf people nowadays are able to go to University and obtain degrees and high level qualification does not necessarily alter their position in society.  A great deal of misunderstanding exists and there is not an immediate solution in sight.
