Course limit
We recommend you attend up to a maximum of three workshops from People Development per academic year. Please contact us if you would like to discuss attending more than three courses.
Course costs
There is no booking fee for the majority of our workshops. There will be a charge for attending leadership programmes. Please see individual course descriptions in Develop for specific information regarding charges. In addition, please note our fees for late cancellation and our non-attendance fees below.
Late cancellation and non-attendance
A non-attendance fee will be charged to your department if:
- Your booking has been confirmed but you do not attend the course.
- You do not let us know you cannot attend a course more than three full working days prior to the start time of the course. (Please note that this notification period may vary; always check the individual course details).
Current late cancellation/non-attendance fees
The late cancellation/non-attendance fee is £50 per course (this is different for leadership programmes). This amount will be deducted from your department's budget. The fee goes towards covering our administrative and facilitation costs.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your place on a course you must let us know at least three full working days prior to the start time of the course.
Course cancellations can be done in Develop (up to 3 days prior) or by email. If you are unable to cancel your place on a course directly with us, please ask somebody to cancel your place for you. This will ensure that you are not charged a late cancellation fee. In order to ensure a fair system, please do not send someone to a course in your place, as there may be others waiting to attend in the event of a cancellation.
Sickness
If you are unable to attend a workshop or course due to sickness, please can you or a member of your team notify People Development by email to: people-development@bristol.ac.uk as soon as possible on the day of the course, if not before.
Access requirements
We aim to make our learning and development opportunities accessible to all staff. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments to enable access, for example:
- Level access to venue
- BSL/SSE interpreters
- Course handouts in advance, or in alternative formats (Braille, large print, electronically)
Please contact us by email people-development@bristol.ac.uk, or let us know on Develop if you have any requirements.
