Practice as research

Models such as practice-as-research, practice-based, practice-led, mixed-mode research practice and practice through research have now gained recognition. But for those who wish their research efforts to become part of the long-term scholarly record, success may depend on pre-empting some of the practical problems which arise when documenting work, managing data well and then sharing it widely and in a useful form.

These issues can be a real challenge, particularly when preparing documentation for research assessment. We've done a lot of work in this area and have produced resources such as the JISC CAiRO project and the Performance Art Data Structure (PADS).
