Bristol Health Partners and Health Integration Teams

A strategic health and care partnership

Bristol Health Partners is an Academic Health Science Centre and a strategic collaboration between eleven organisations in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).

Partners include Bristol’s two universities (University of Bristol and University of the West of England (UWE)), the two acute NHS Trusts serving the BNSSG region, its three local authorities and its Integrated Care Board.

It aims to help people in our region live longer and healthier lives and improve how services are delivered, by integrating, promoting and developing Bristol's strengths in health services, research, innovation and education.

Health Integration Teams

Bristol Health Partners works in Health Integration Teams (HITs), which focus on specific health conditions or challenges. They draw their membership from some or all of its partner organisations, along with representatives from the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, and public contributors with lived experience.

Professor John Macleod, co-lead for the Centre for Academic Primary Care, is currently a director of the Adversity and Trauma HIT.
