Benefits of Aldosterone Receptor Antagonism in Chronic Kidney Disease (BARACK D) Trial

This is a multi-centre trial, a collaboration between 6 departments in the NIHR National School for Primary Care Research, led by the Oxford Department of Primary care (Chief investigator: Richard Hobbs), with additional centres in Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Southampton, Derby and Bristol (PI: Gene Feder, RA: Susan Bryant)

The trial aims to determine the effects of aldosterone receptor antagonism on mortality and cardiovascular outcomes (onset or progression of cardiovascular disease) in patients with stage 3b CKD (chronic kidney disease).

This trial is funded by the NIHR HTA.
