Recruitment going well for eczema study BATHE

10 November 2015

The CAPC team that is part of the Bath Additives for the Treatment of Childhood Eczema (BATHE) project is celebrating passing the 100 participant milestone, and being ahead of its target to recruit 150 children

CAPC is one of three universities (the others being Southampton, the lead centre, and Cardiff) recruiting children with eczema to determine whether adding emollients to the bath helps or not. Some doctors and nurses also recommend using them but there is no evidence about whether these help and it is possible that they cause harm.

Recruitment will continue until April 2016, with the results expected in 2017. For further information go to the study website (www.southampton.ac.uk/bathe) or email bathe-study@bristol.ac.uk
