Glasgow Students Study

The Glasgow Students Study is a cohort of 15,993 students at the University of Glasgow (approximately 50% of the student population) who completed a health questionnaire and attended a clinic with the University’s medical service between 1948 and 1972. A follow-up study in 2000–2003 sent health questionnaires to all 11,422 traceable surviving participants.

Following the closure of the University of Glasgow Student Health Service in the early 1990s, the data were passed to Professor George Davey Smith and the study is now managed by the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit at the University of Bristol.
