Developing an open data architecture system for Team Neuroscience

28 April 2022

Research England and Wellcome Trust have funded a enhancing research culture project to develop a Neuroscience data architecture system enabling data sharing for collaborations and open access.

"Reproducibility relies on access to raw data and meta data. For most neuroscientists (and scientists in other disciplines), current practice of storing data in proprietary software formats on local networks makes accessing data very challenging. This project aims to prototype a cost-effective and user-friendly system that makes data openly available with standardised format and storage of data, meta data and source code. Such a system could then be rolled out to many groups within Bristol Neuroscience and other disciplines.

This project is part of the Research England Enhancing Research Culture call that aims to establish and embed best working practice. It is also supported by the Wellcome Trust Neural Dynamics PhD programme. The project lead is Jack Mellor and involves partners in Computer Science (Conor Houghton) and Neuroscience (Aleks Domanski, Matt Jones, Richard Apps)."
