A University of Bristol singing group has released a powerful new track for Mother’s Day, which thanks parents everywhere for their “never-ending support and love”.

Last year The Bristol Suspensions won the UK finals of the ICCA, a competition made famous by the Hollywood film Pitch Perfect. It led to appearances on This Morning, the BBC and more.

Their latest single, an a cappella cover of Ben Platt’s ‘In Case You Don’t Live Forever’, is a “love letter to parents everywhere, for all the never-ending support and love they provide”, said group member and Management Masters’ student Alessia Doyle.

She added: “We’re huge fans of Ben Platt and his album ‘Sing To Me Instead’, and so we naturally wanted to perform one of his songs. We filmed the video using the stunning backdrop of the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, and added childhood videos of our members.”

The song was arranged by Rosa Witts and Nathan Cave, the group’s Musical Director and Assistant Musical Director respectively.

The breathtaking solo comes from Madeleine Morgan, 20, a 2nd year Law student.

Madeleine said: “It is precisely for opportunities like this that I joined The Bristol Suspensions. It’s such a joy to be regularly creating this sort of incredible music with my closest friends, and we thought this song would be perfect for Mother’s Day.

“We have one dedicated day per year where we celebrate our mums, and this track beautifully summarises the perpetual love and gratitude we hold for our parents.”

The song is now available on all major streaming services and the music video can be found on the band’s Youtube and Facebook channels.
