The University of Bristol has welcomed the announcement that a new post-study work visa would allow international students to work in the UK for two years after graduation.

Dr Erik Lithander, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement, said:

"The announcement today that international graduates could qualify for a two-year work visa is welcome news, and strengthens our position as a world-class study destination.

"The University of Bristol is a truly global institution, we currently have students from more than 120 countries studying here. This policy change recognises the enormous contribution international students make in terms of research, culture and the economy.

"It is not just universities and international students who will benefit from this decision, it also represents a significant opportunity for local and UK employers who will now have access to some of our best and brightest graduates.”
