The event, held in the Great Hall of Wills Memorial Building, was led by the University Chaplaincy and CCCA, supported by the University Events Office, and attended by 95 staff, medical demonstrators and relatives of the donors. It’s an annual event to recognise and appreciate the generosity of those who have donated their bodies for anatomical examination, education and training.

Following this year’s service relatives were invited to a lunch and poster session. Here members of the CCCA, including the Director, academic leads, Bequest Manager and technical staff, were on hand to explain to relatives how crucial each donor’s gift has been to the development of knowledge and understanding of future doctors, dentists and researchers.

The CEO of the University’s new Vesalius Clinical Training Centre also attended the event to explain the important contribution donors make to the initiatives and opportunities in postgraduate surgical training and the development of new surgical devices.
