New research which found the first unequivocal evidence that humans in prehistoric Northern Europe made cheese more than 7,000 years ago was reported by The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, BBC News, Channel 4 News, The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Philadelphia Inquirer, Toronto Star, Sydney Morning Herald and other media around the world.  Professor Evershed was interviewed by the BBC's Naked Scientists, Australian radio and CBC's Quirks and Quarks.

The research was carried out by PhD student Mélanie Salque and Professor Richard Evershed in the School of Chemistry.
