Burst Radio, the University of Bristol‘s student radio station, is set to get a huge boost to its listening figures and reach a wider pool of students when it starts broadcasting to cafés and buildings across the University precinct in October.

Currently, Bristol students need to tune in to Burst online at www.burstradio.org.uk or through the TuneIn mobile app. But from October, thanks to a new sponsorship deal with KPMG, Burst Radio will also be streamed into hotspots around the precinct, including the six Source cafés, the Refectory and the Students’ Union Info Point.

Run entirely by student volunteers, Burst Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day during term time, offering a lively mix of music, light entertainment and society shows – everything from the Arts Review to the Zoology Society Show.

Established in 1995 the station has helped launch the careers of comedian Marcus Brigstocke, BBC presenters David Sheppard and Chris Cox and Classic FM’s Nicola Bonn.
