Mervyn was originally based in the Department of Medicine, at the rear of the BRI, but was moved to Site Services and the new Dorothy Hodgkin Building when it first opened. He was conscientious, reliable, and loyal and was greatly missed when he retired in 2005. He was also a family man who doted on his grandchildren and particularly looked forward to family holidays in North Cyprus with his daughter Sue, son-in-law Gary, and the grandkids.

Mervyn was only recently diagnosed with cancer, and sadly passed away on Tuesday 12 June. His funeral will take place on Tuesday 26 June at 10.30am at Bristol South Crematorium.
