New Enterprise Competition 2011 - now open

27 January 2011

The University's annual New Enterprise Competition offers staff, students and recent graduates the chance to win a share of over £36,000 for their innovative ideas.

This year’s prize fund is sponsored by Bristol City Council, Deloitte, EADS, IP Group, King Sturge, Osborne Clarke, Motorola, Santander, SETsquared and Wyvern Seed Fund.

The competition aims to find the best new business ideas and innovations emerging from the University – whether concepts, plans, or even businesses that have just started trading. It’s a great way to gain feedback and expert opinion from RED’s experts and mentors from the sponsoring organisations – and potentially to win some start-up funds.

The deadline for entries this year is 5pm on 11 February. Application forms and information about the competition can be obtained from the RED website.

This year there is an additional category in the competition: The Vice-Chancellor’s Impact Award, which will celebrate innovative academic research from the last twelve months that has made the greatest impact.
