Bristol Neuroscience is working in partnership with At-Bristol to run hands-on demonstrations and brain activities at the science centre all week. Over twenty practicing neuroscientists from the University of Bristol are taking part.

At the event members of the public will be able to 'meet the neuroscientist' - ask anything and everything about the brain, find out more about its associated disorders and neuroscience research.

Dr Anne Cooke, Neuroscience Research Facilitator and Communications Manager for Bristol Neuroscience, the body that represents all neuroscience in Bristol, said: "With over 70 countries running events worldwide, Brain Awareness Week [BAW] is an important platform to inform and discuss the brain - something of relevance to everyone in society.

"BAW opens people's minds to the wonders of the brain, and gives the chance to learn how to protect this unique organ against injury and disease. The involvement from practicing neuroscientists and clinicians allows people to also hear about the very latest treatments and discoveries in brain research."

All the events marking Brain Awareness Week in Bristol 2010 are only able to take place thanks to At-Bristol and Bristol Neuroscience with support from the University of Bristol's Centre for Public Engagement.
