10 November 2009

Feeling stressed? Pulled a muscle? Volunteers from Bristol University Massage Society are offering massage in exchange for a donation to Children in Need on 18 November.

The annual ‘massage-athon’ will take place from noon to 8 pm in the Mandela Bar in the University’s Students’ Union Building, and from 8 pm till late in the Union’s Epi Bar.

Volunteers from the Bristol University Massage Society will be offering massage to staff, students and members of the public in exchange for a donation to the Children in Need charity appeal. The Society raised £400 at the 2008 massage-athon and hopes to exceed that amount this year.

BBC Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity. Its annual telethon, which takes place on 20 November this year, is one of the highlights of the BBC calendar. Activities take place across the country around this time to help raise money to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. In 2008, the Children in Need appeal raised more than £38 million.
