People who donate their body to medical science contribute in a vital way to training by medical schools and such donations are highly valued. The education and training of medical professionals, as well as biomedical research, benefit from the generosity of those who donate bodies for use after their death.

Friends and relatives of those who have donated their bodies are welcome to attend, as well as anyone who might be considering leaving their body to medical science.

The event will be held at 1.15 pm on Wednesday 25 February in the University’s Old Council Chamber, Wills Memorial Building, Queen’s Road, Clifton, Bristol. 

Dr Alice Roberts, Lecturer in Clinical Anatomy, said: “We feel it appropriate to give recognition and thanks to the families of those who have donated their bodies to medical science. We have worked closely with the University’s Multifaith Chaplaincy to create this thanksgiving event.”
