University director recognised as a leading figure in research

Dr David Langley, Director of Research and Enterprise Development, has been appointed a Distinguished Faculty Member of the Society of Research Administrators International.

Dr David Langley, Director of the University of Bristol’s Research and Enterprise Development (RED) division, has been recognised as a leading figure in the field of Research Administration.

Dr Langley is one of only two people in the UK to have been appointed a Distinguished Faculty Member of the Society of Research Administrators International (SRA International).

Members are called upon as expert consultants and speakers to present and review professional workshops, continuing education courses, and professional development programmes, and as expert researchers to conduct external, periodic and professional reviews of research administration capacity and process within organisations.

David Langley said: “I am honoured that SRA International have chosen me to be a member of the Distinguished Faculty, which recognises the professionalism and international nature of research administration. The SRA consist of leading teachers, scholars and practitioners in Research Administration and I am proud to be joining them in this role.”
