The new University of Bristol Botanic Garden has been awarded the West Country TV Cup for best 'Outstanding Special Project' in this year’s South-West Regional Final of the Britain in Bloom Competition, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society. The University Botanic Garden was judged as one of the elements making up Bristol's entry into the competition. Bristol won a Gold Medal and narrowly missed out on the regional cup for best city to Plymouth.

Mike Crook and Monica Whyte, organisers of this year's Bristol entry to Britain in Bloom, presented the award to Nicholas Wray, Botanic Garden Curator, at the site of the new Garden in Stoke Bishop.
