Bristol University is awarding Honorary degrees to three prominent people at tomorrow's [Wednesday 18 February] degree ceremonies.

Bristol University is awarding Honorary degrees to three prominent people at tomorrow’s [Wednesday 18 February] degree ceremonies in the Wills Memorial Building, Queen’s Road, Bristol.

The Very Reverend John Cairns, past Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland and Bristol graduate, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Laws at the 11.15am ceremony.

Frances Cairncross, journalist and writer who has drawn attention to key economic and social issues long before they have become fashionable, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Science at the 2pm ceremony.

Donald Insall, CBE, one of the leading conservation architects of his generation, who has greatly contributed to the preservation of the nation’s buildings and historical places, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Laws at the 4.45pm ceremony.
