There's only a short time left to get your ideas into the University's 2004 New Enterprise Competition before the closing date: 30 Jan 2004.

Bristol University staff, students and recent graduates can enter the competition by completing the easy-to-use form on the web.

If you have a great business idea you could win a share of the prize fund worth over £30,000 to help make your idea a commercial success.  Prizes include cash, professional business advice and a rent-free desk for six months in the SETsquared Centre business incubator.  Other benefits of entering the competition include gaining access to professional business advice from the competition's renowned sponsors.  Cash prizes awarded in the main competition are intended to support new enterprises and will be audited to ensure funds are put to business use, although there will be a separate prize for students with no strings attached.

The competition is open to all full- and part-time University of Bristol staff, students and recent graduates.  Entries may come from individuals or teams. Any business idea is eligible for entry, but the judges will be looking for high growth potential.

To enter the competition, you must submit an official entry form outlining your business idea by 30 January 2004.  The best entries, as judged by the sponsors, will then be invited to submit full business plans by 28 April 2004. At this stage you will have access to the invaluable expertise of our sponsors to help you prepare your full business plan.

Competition winners will be announced at the prestigious Enterprise Dinner on 20 July 2004.

The New Enterprise Competition is sponsored by Bankside, Fortis Bank, STMicroelectronics, Osborne Clarke, Deloitte & Touche and Sulis Innovation.
