Energy efficiency, recycling and transport will come under the spotlight in a host of initiatives designed to encourage everyone to make a lasting impact on the University's environmental performance.

All week, the Environment Express will be outside The Hawthorns on Woodland Road between 11am and 2pm, providing information on conservation, sustainability and how to pursue a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

There will be the chance to win one of five recycled computers, sample fair-traded tea, coffee and chocolate, and recycle mobile phones, ink cartridges, plastic bags and more.

On Wednesday March 19, Woodland Road will be closed to traffic between 11am and 2pm, to encourage people to find alternative ways to get to the university and to demonstrate innovative uses for a road free of cars.

Throughout the week, there will also be the opportunity to find out more about saving energy in the home with Sustainable Energy and ways to care for the environment with Greenpeace.
