Vice-Chancellor brushes up on skills


Professor Eric Thomas, Vice-Chancellor of Bristol University, will be brushing up his skills when he shadows a cleaner for an hour during the fourth national Learning at Work Day [Thursday, May 16].

The main aim of the day, which is part of Adult Learners' Week, is to make learning a part of everyday working life, especially for employees who do not traditionally benefit from workplace learning.

People working for the University will have the opportunity to:
* shadow or swap jobs for the day;
* sign up for courses;
* keep a learning diary;
* learn something from the web.

The University's Staff Development team will also be offering a telephone helpline to answer questions on development and training, contact extension 7199.
