2023/2024 Commonwealth PhD Scholarship Nominations!

For the 2023/24 Commonwealth PhD Scholarships, Shuping Dang will be planning to nominate full-scholarship PhD applicants from eligible countries (listed below) to study 6G wireless communications at the University of Bristol (QS World Ranking 55th 2023/24 and 5th in the UK Times Higher Education REF 2021) under his supervision.

For the 2023/24 Commonwealth PhD Scholarships, Shuping Dang will be planning to nominate full-scholarship PhD applicants from the eligible countries (Bangladesh, Cameroon, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, and Zambia) to study 6G wireless communications at the University of Bristol (QS World Ranking 55th 2023/24 and 5th in the UK Times Higher Education REF 2021) under his supervision. The research topics include but are not limited to: 

  • High-frequency wireless communications: modeling, performance analysis, and optimization
  • Massive MIMO and advanced transceiver design for wireless communication systems
  • Artificial intelligence/machine learning aided wireless communication systems and networks
  • Physical-layer security for wireless communication systems
  • Drone/UAV based communications and networking
  • Meta-surface/RIS based communications and networking
  • Novel modulation and coding techniques for wireless communication systems
  • Novel diversity and multiplexing techniques for wireless communication systems

Potential PhD applicants shall hold or are expected to soon hold a first-class bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, communication engineering, signal processing, or other relevant disciplines. Applicants already with publications in IEEE Transactions, Letters, and/or flagship IEEE/ACM conferences are highly preferred. Applicants also need to meet the English profile level E (IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with no score below 6.0; or TOEFL iBT: 85 overall with R20, L20, S21, W20).
