Please note that we are not currently offering pre-undergraduate summer schools for under-18 students in Summer 2024. We hope to return with our pre-undergraduate programmes in Summer 2025, and will publish details of these in due course.

Entry requirements

You must meet all of the below requirements to be eligible for this summer school.

Study level

Pre-undergraduate.

Currently in 6th form college / high school / Y12-Y13 (16–18 further education).

Subject requirements

You must be studying Chemistry plus one of either Biology, Physics or Maths at A-level, International Baccalaureate Higher Level or international equivalents.

Academic requirements

You must be a strong student maintaining a good academic record.

You should be on track to meet typical entry requirements for .

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you need to meet (or be due to meet by the time you apply to University) our English language Profile B.

Age

16 or over at the time of the summer school.

This summer school is for high school students who are not yet studying at university level.

All applicants, together with their parents/guardians, should read both the Terms & Conditions and the Enhanced Student Behaviour Policy & Parental Agreement, before accepting any offer to study at Bristol.

To apply, you will need to complete our short application form and submit:

  • evidence of your current qualifications being studied (for example, recent examination results or a copy of your timetable)
  • a short (maximum 250 words) statement explaining why you are applying to this summer school
  • evidence of your English language skills (if relevant).
