Sibilla Cumana

This painting is an early nineteenth century copy of the Sibilla Cumana (c.1622) by Italian Baroque painter Domenico Zampieri (1581-1641). The original hangs in the Pinacoteca Capitolina museum in Rome. This copy formerly belonged to Gladys Mary Morgan, head mistress of Colston Girls' School, then warden of Manor Hall at the University of Bristol from 1946 -1956. The painting has since been held in the care of successive wardens of Manor Hall. It is currently on display in Royal Fort House.
