Bird skulls

The image is of an Eagle owl, a Macaw and a Woodcock. They are part of a collection of some fifty bird skulls, housed at the Pre-Clinical Veterinary School on Southwell Street. Most of the birds were donated by private breeders or exotic bird sanctuaries on the birds’ deaths, and the skulls prepared for the collection at the Department of Anatomy. The skulls are used annually in practical classes as part of the Veterinary Science degree course.
