Founded and directed by Marzelan Salleh, Nada Nusantara is committed to encourage musical diversity and artistic exchanges through contemporary music in Malaysia and abroad.

Nada Nusantara seek to explore the processes involved in composing and transforming musical gestures into quasi-improvisational text and performance, that are ultimately influenced by each other’s techniques and culture.

Nada Nusantara explores and develops the music, form, text, colours and gestures (musical, emotional, expression and physical), resulting in creations of new compositions for quasi-improvisational text and performance.

The final performance draws on dialogue, actions, and music that have been developed during the improvisation period that incorporates theatrics to tell a story, convey emotions and entertain the audience.

Nada Nusantara comprises:

Marzelan Salleh, RosdeenSuboh, Ang Mei Foong, Poon Chiew Hwa, Kamarulzaman Mohamed Karim, and Camellia Mohamed Razali.

This current project is supported by British Council’s Connections Through Culture.
