The purpose of the Regulations and Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes is to maintain the quality and academic standards of the University's research degrees and to provide regulatory information and guidance for postgraduate research students and staff. It sets out the University's intentions for:
The Regulations and Code are based on existing good practice, and take into account internal and external developments, notably the Quality Assurance Agency's Quality Code.
The Regulations and Code are updated annually so it is important that students and staff refer to the current version. Only the current version has regulatory status and supersedes all previous versions.
