When did MyBristol close?

The portal closed to all users on 31 July 2024 at 4pm GMT.

What should I use instead of MyBristol?

There are three alternatives: two for students, one for staff.

University of Bristol App

Students can find everything they need on the new University of Bristol app.

Download from Apple or Google Play or view online.

Student website

Our current students' website also has everything you need, as well as a search function if you can't find what you're looking for.

Staff intranet

If you're a member of staff or a PGR student, you'll find everything you need linked from the staff intranet.

This includes key systems such as Blackboard, eVision, My Students, Pure, MyERP, Desk booking and Office 365 apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive).

What should I do if I have a problem now that MyBristol has closed?

You can report any problems or errors you experience to the IT Service Desk, who will be happy to help you solve the problem.

Take a look at the list below for more information about the new ways to access services and activities now that the portal has closed.

Why has MyBristol closed?

MyBristol was a portal which linked to some university services such as email, calendar and Blackboard. It also provided one way to see information like exam results, marks and student fees.

Since its implementation over a decade ago, the way staff and students access digital content has changed significantly. Almost all of its content is now accessible from other places which didn't exist when it was first launched, such as the University of Bristol student app and the Staff & PGR intranet. We know that usage of the portal has fallen considerably over the past few years and that 70% of staff surveyed in 2020 said they 'never' found the portal useful.

Because of this, we've decided to close the portal as of 31st July 2024.

Only MyBristol is closing

Don't worry! Services which MyBristol links to - eVision, My Students and Student Info - are not closing. You can still access and use them as normal after 31st July 2024.
