Since the retina and optic nerve are part of the central nervous system, nutritionalfactors that affect the brain and cognitive function can also affect the eyes and vision.  We are working with the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre Nutrition theme and MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit to investigate how dietary factors can influence several visual disorders, including myopia and optic neuropathies.
