Non-commercial copying

Scanning charges

We can offer electronic copies of images for personal research purposes. Scanning charges: £3 for the first scan; £0.50 for each additional scan. Should the search and quantity of scanning required involve more than 30 minutes of staff time, then a charge will be made of £12.50 per half hour in addition to the cost of the scans. You will be informed prior to additional charges being made.

Copies made must be for research use only and may not be used for reproduction or commercial purposes, without the prior agreement and acknowledgement of the copyright holder(s) and the University of Bristol Theatre Collection. You must complete a form to agree with these conditions prior to receiving the copies. Please email theatre-collection@bristol.ac.uk to request scanned images.

Copying of audio-visual material

Moving-image material will only be supplied if all relevant copyright clearances and consents have already been obtained, and evidence of this is provided in writing to the Theatre Collection.

• Commercial copying charges: £50 per hour. A minimum one-hour charge applies.
• Non-commercial copying charges: £25 per hour. A minimum-one hour charge applies.

Search service

If you are unable to visit the Theatre Collection in person, we can undertake more detailed searches on your behalf. This service is provided free of charge for up to half an hour. Additional time spent on an enquiry will be charged at £12.50 per half hour. Please email theatre-collection@bristol.ac.uk with full details of your enquiry so that we can advise as to potential costs.
