Team Lead and Support

Naomi Gornall, Head of Net Zero Carbon & Sustainability

Has responsibility for delivering sustainability at the University.

Lee Walsh, Campus Administrator 

Provides administration support for the sustainability team. 

Communications & Marketing

Hannah Morgans, Sustainability Marketing & Communications Projects Officer

Hannah develops and delivers campaigns to communicate and promote the Sustainability Department's initiatives.

Energy and Carbon Team

Anna Lewis, Sustainable Science Manager

Anna leads on energy and carbon projects within our STEM buildings and coordinates the Sustainable Science & Green Labs Initiative. Delivers circular economy projects and research efficiency across our scientific community.  

James Daly, Sustainable Manager (Utilities & Carbon Management)

James develops and runs the Carbon Management Plan. He also delivers physical carbon reduction projects, as well as managing all sustainability data for the team (and University), providing quality assurance and monitoring.   

James Ryle, Sustainability Manager (Carbon Scope 3)

James is responsible for driving action to reduce the University's wider carbon footprint, e.g. from its supply chain, business travel, construction and investments.

Jeannette Stockham (Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri), Invoice and Administration Assistant

Jeannette processes all utility invoices and supports the Analysis Manager regarding data quality.   

Mark Maunder, Project Manager - Net Zero Carbon

Mark is overseeing a number of carbon and energy reduction projects for the University.

Circular Economy, Resource Management (Waste and Recycling), EMS Team

Sam Holt, Environmental Supervisor (Waste and Resources) 

Ensures day to day operation of the University’s sites in relation to waste. 

Kasia Haywood, Environmental Supervisor (Waste and Resources) 

Ensures day to day operation of the University’s sites in relation to waste. 

Jamie Hollister, Environmental Operative (Waste & Resources)

Manages a range of wastes streams on the ground across the University and helps deliver environmental auditing.

Alastair Hulin, Environmental Operative (Waste & Resources)

Manages a range of wastes streams on the ground across the University and helps deliver environmental auditing.          

Transport Team

Amy Heritage, Sustainability Manager (Transport)

Amy is responsible for Transport challenges at the University.

Julia Pollard, Travel Plan Coordinator

Julia supports the sustainability managers for Transport, with a focus on bus, cycling and promotion of sustainable transport.

Lucy Briggs, Transport Development Manager

Lucy works on TQEC development, site-specific travel plans and our car parking policy.

Ben Bowskill, Transport Development Manager

Ben works on special transport projects including fleet management and e-cargo bikes. 

     

Public Engagement team

Hannah Tweddell, Sustainability and Engaged Learning Coordinator

Hannah works with students to provide sustainability learning opportunities in the city on sustainability challenges.               

 

Estates and other University teams

James Fiddock, Head of External Estates (Interim)

James' responsibilities include conserving and enhancing the University’s biodiversity, as well as delivering the University’s Biodiversity policy.         

Graham Hall, Head of Capital Projects

Responsible for delivery of building programs, but also has responsibilities for the delivery of Sustainable Construction activity within our building projects.         

Rob Logan, Head of Procurement 

Responsible for delivering efficient Procurement activities at the University, including delivery of Sustainable Procurement.

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Team

Responsible for delivering the universities strategic aims to embed sustainability within our curriculum. Coordinating the ESD network for staff.
