Course structure
Years one and two
The first two years are delivered primarily through case-based, tutor-facilitated, small-group teaching and learning and complemented by lectures and practicals. This is a distinctive student-led approach that sets the programme apart from other graduate entry courses in the UK.
In the first and second years, you will study the integrated structure and function of animals, principles of disease, clinical veterinary science, and professional studies.
Years three and four
The course integrates with the final two years of our five-year BVSc Veterinary Science degree towards the end of your second year and you will further develop your skills in clinical sciences and professional studies.
You will be hands-on from the start of the curriculum, engaging in teaching and placements in a range of settings including veterinary practices, farms and our on-site abattoir.
An extended final clinical year includes on-site and off-site placements with our educational partners. In their final year, students develop their clinical skills with the support of experienced veterinary surgeons, including some shifts outside normal working hours.
