University of Bristol is one of ten UK universities to be awarded extra funding for This Girl Can campaign

British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) have announced that 10 universities in have been selected to support the Sport England funded This Girl Can activation in partnership with BUCS, delivering targeted projects across the remainder of the 2016/17 academic year, with a total of £25,000 supporting the initiative.
The University of Bristol, along with the other 9 universities in England, will work in partnership with BUCS to engage inactive female students in a range of sport and physical activity over the coming months, with a particular focus on getting students from under-represented groups, including BAME and international students, active.
The other institutions receiving This Girl Can funding from Sport England are; University of Birmingham, Leeds Trinity University, Northumbria University, University of East Anglia, Nottingham Trent University, Kings College London, University College London, Kingston University and University of Warwick.
2016 was the second year running that the University of Bristol took part in This Girl Can, which aims to get more women taking part in sport and physical activity. This Bristol Girl Can week ran from 7-13 November, with a huge range of free activities for female students to try, and over 1000 students taking part.
