Tour of Britain cycles into the city
9 September 2016
The Tour of Britain is returning to Bristol on Saturday [10 September 2016] following the city hosting a successful stage finish in 2014. This year, the tour’s visit looks set to be one of the biggest sporting events in Bristol’s history with the full penultimate stage all happening right here, within the city. Organised by the Bristol Partnership for Sports and Active Recreation, the University is proud to be one of the sponsors of this prestigious event.
The Tour of Britain is a week-long event including 8 stages and covering nearly 1,000 miles. The Bristol leg will feature two different races, starting off with an Individual Time Trial in the morning (10am-12.30pm) followed by a six lap Circuit Race in the afternoon (2.30-4.30pm).
