Performance Sport Squad member Sue Neumann selected and stars for England Under 20s Womens Rugby
Biochemistry student Sue Neumann scored her first try on her England Under 20s debut on 18 February in a gruelling 41-12 win over the Army.
We spoke to Sue after the game and she gave us her thoughts:
"It was a huge honour for me to be starting for the England U20's and we knew that the army would come at us with all they had. We scored two tries in the first 20 minutes of the game through slick hands from the backs and rapid pace out wide. The next scores came from the army, with hard carries that broke our defence before it was set. The next try gave us the edge at half time, with dominant forward carries breaking through to make the score 19-12 at half time. The second half gave the backs a chance to stretch the lead, with multiple tries coming from well practiced lines and support play. In the last play of the match I was fortunate enough to be on the back of a maul to score my first international try, which was an incredible feeling".
The squads attention nows turn to hosting France on 5 March when Sue and her team mates will be hoping for more of the same. Wam congratulations to Sue!
