Professor Will Fowler's lecture “Rethinking nineteenth-century Mexico. Following in the steps of Prof. Michael P. Costeloe”provided an amazing, stimulating and entertaining overview of Professor Michael P. Costeloe's legacy in the historiography of nineteenth-century Mexico.
Over 80 students, staff, researchers, and former colleagues of Professor Costeloe enjoyed the lecture. Eduardo Medina-Mora Icaza, Mexico's ambassador to the UK, described Professor Costeloe's legacy as 'wide-ranging, deep and of profound importance to understanding Mexico's contemporary affairs, as well as its history'.
