The University of Bristol’s Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training offers a unique training and development experience for those wishing to pursue a career in the emerging field of quantum information, from theory to technologies. We offer 12 fully funded PhD positions each year (£18668 stipend + £4565 for tuition fees in 2022/23).

This event is aimed at encouraging all students to consider continuing their quantum technology studies at the PhD level.

The event features talks from quantum scientists and engineers, working both in universities and industry, giving insight into their current roles and their careers to date. Even more importantly, there is ample time to talk in small groups to the other participants who are facing the same decisions, and to current PhD students who have recently faced the same questions. It will address the nature of PhD research, the work environment, the application process, and career options. It will also provide an opportunity to visit the QE-CDT facilities anddiscuss all your questions around PhD study.

Our open day is a free event and includes talks from our lecturers, the chance to meet and talk with people from our past cohorts as well as the opportunity to meet other students and staff members from the Quantum Engineering Technologies Labs at University of Bristol.

If you would like to see some of the sessions from a previous year's open day then you can view them on the QETLabs YouTube channel (click on playlists, then go to 'QECDT' to see our videos)
