We would like to welcome Dr Gretel Loten, who has joined the School today as a Daphne Jackson Trust Fellow.
In collaboration with Universities, the Trust helps return scientists to their careers after a career break by supporting research and further training. Gretel ‘s doctoral and postdoctoral research investigated dietary and learned determinants of eating behaviour, and during her Fellowship she will conduct a study of mothers’ appetite and thirst during lactation. This is a little studied area of considerable theoretical interest, with implications for understanding postpartum weight change. Gretel will be working with Peter Rogers and Jeff Brunstrom at Bristol, and colleagues at The Peninsula Medical School at the University of Exeter.
