We are working closely with different community groups in Bristol and have formed a patient advisory group, which includes 14 members from under-represented groups, including ethnic minorities, to reflect the local population. The patient advisory group were involved in the design of the study and development of study documents, such as the information sheets.

The purpose of the patient advisory group is to support the research team with raising awareness about the study, and the importance of research widely within the community, by advising on ways to reach diverse community groups. Members of the group have been involved in creating the short explanation films about the study.

The patient advisory group will ensure that the study team are on track with reaching the recruitment target for minority ethnic groups.

Members of the group will also be involved in co-developing lay summaries to share the findings of the study.
