Climate Change and Poverty

On Wednesday 27 October 2021, the Bristol Poverty Institute held an online interdisciplinary webinar exploring the topic of climate change and how this can intersect with poverty issues from a range of disciplinary perspectives.

This was an internal event featuring four fantastic speakers from across the University:

  • Guy Howard (Director of Cabot Institute for the Environment; Global Research Chair Environmental and Infrastructure Resilience, Faculty of Engineering)
  • Alix Dietzel (Lecturer, Sociology, Politics and International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law)
  • Ed Atkins (Lecturer, Geographical Sciences, Faculty of Science)
  • Mary Zhang (Senior Research Associate, Policy Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law)

This was followed by a facilitated discussion, chaired by BPI Manager Dr Lauren Winch.

This seminar was part of the BPI’s interdisciplinary seminar series which focusses on broad themes relevant to poverty research which can be explored from a variety of different perspectives.
