PolicyBristol have been notified of an exciting opportunity for University of Bristol academics to work with the National Assembly for Wales’ Research Service.
The Academic Fellowship Scheme
The Academic Fellowship Scheme enables academics at a senior (post-PhD) career level to spend time working with the Research Service on a specific project, where this will have mutual benefit to the academic and to the National Assembly for Wales.
The scheme aims to:
- Provide access to expertise on topics of relevance to priority areas;
- Promote public understanding of the Assembly amongst the research community;
- Cultivate relationships between Assembly staff and the research community; and
- Support the Assembly Commission’s strategic goals of providing outstanding parliamentary support and engaging with all the people of Wales.
This is a part-time academic fellowship in 2019 (start date and time commitment of your choosing). Given the flexibility in duration (min 1 month, max 1 year) and time commitment, this is an excellent opportunity for researchers at all career stages.
There is both an open call – research project of your choice – and a directed call, with over 50 topics.
How to apply
Application forms and guidance can be found on the National Assembly for Wales website. For more information and support with your application, contact PolicyBristol.
Information
- The NAW will not fund the fellowship: It is expected that fellows will normally be funded through their own institutions, either through existing impact funding or through an agreed allocation of their own research time.
- All successful fellows will be expected to attend the induction day in January 2019 (expenses reimbursed).
