Bringing together Scientists, Clinical academics and NHS Doctors and Nurses with multidisciplinary research expertise across Bristol, Bath and the surrounding area.

The Bristol Anaesthesia, Pain and Critical Care Research group conducts clinical trials, systematic reviews and national outcomes audits, basic neuroscience and cardiovascular investigations as well as experimental medicine studies of novel interventions.

We collaborate with NHS Trusts, Industry partners and international research teams.  Our work is supported with funding from National Institute for Health Research, Medical Research Council, Wellcome Trust, British Heart Foundation, Versus Arthritis, National Institutes of Health and through industrial partnerships.

Our research tackles key questions relating to critical illness and trauma, pain, consciousness, safety and clinical outcomes of relevance to patients, practitioners, the NHS and wider society.
