Thomas Schindler hired on Johannes Stern's ERC project

Thomas Schindler

29 July 2019

Thomas Schindler will be joining the department as a postdoc on Johannes Stern’s European Research Council project, Truth and Semantics.

Thomas Schindler's primary research interests are philosophical logic, metaphysics, philosophy of language, and philosophy of mathematics, as well as a side interest in the philosophy of Schopenhauer.
He will be joining the department as a postdoctoral researcher on Johannes Stern’s project, Truth and Semantics, funded by an ERC starting grant. This project aims to provide a unified perspective on natural language semantics, conceived of as truth-conditional semantics, and the research on the so-called semantic paradoxes in the form of theories of self-applicable truth.
Thomas is currently a Marie Curie fellow at the ILLC at the University of Amsterdam with a project "The logical function of property talk". He will be starting in Bristol in March 2020.
